  • Field archaeologist and supervisor on many archaeological and cultural resource management projects throughout western Canada including B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan, Yukon, and the Northwest Territories.
  • Expertise in cultural/environment interaction and the application of environmental design issues and principles to archaeology and cultural heritage resource management.
  • Expertise in archaeology of the Plains and montane forests of western Canada.
  • More than a decade of direct involvement in the forestry industry on large-scale road building, reservoir and other projects as a heavy-equipment operator.

Neil Mirau - Senior Archaeologist & Partner
  • PhD candidate, Archaeology, University of Calgary.
  • Bachelor of Arts, University of Lethbridge.
  • 20 years of archaeological, geographical, anthropological, historical training and experience, including 8 years university research and teaching.
  • 2 years business, financial and personnel management training and experience.
  • Field archaeologist on many projects and sites in western Canada and the U. S.
  • Expertise in project management and cost estimating in a variety of development projects.
  • Expertise in paleoenvironmental reconstruction, geographical analysis, human osteology and forensic analysis.
Neil Mirau

Don Boras Don Boras - Archaeologist
  • MA (Archaeology), University of Calgary
  • Bachelor of Science, University of Lethbridge.
  • 16 years university teaching experience in archaeology
  • 10 years post-secondary program development and management experience
  • Several years experience as a freelance photographer
  • Field experience on a variety of projects in British Columbia and Alberta
  • Thesis research involved identification and analysis of lithic heat treatment in stone tool manufacture.
  • Lab experience in lithic & pottery analysis.

Ian Tamasi - Field Supervisor
  • BSc Archaeology & BSc Geography (University of Calgary)
  • Several years of field experience, including oil sands, reservoir, and historical urban archaeology projects in Alberta, and forestry projects and excavations in the BC interior
  • Experience in the instruction and supervision of public archaeology programs
  • Expertise in faunal and artifact analysis
  • Interest in flint-knapping and other artifact replication techniques
